The Medical Assistant serves as a critical link between the patient and the physician, helping to facilitate a smooth flow of operations throughout the practice. Additionally, the Medial Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that the patient experience meets our standards of CARE: Compassion, Agility, Respect, and Excellence. The Medical Assistant possesses the ability to work efficiently in high pressure, fast paced environments while maintaining a keen attention to detail and possessing exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and situating them in exam rooms.
- Collecting vitals (temperature, BP, height, weight, RR, etc.) and documenting within the EMR system.
- Preparing patients and rooms for procedures as indicated.
- Responding to patient medical questions.
- Phlebotomy and POC testing.
- Cleaning rooms between patients.
- instrument cleaning and sterilization.
- Stocking/restocking rooms as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in healthcare, customer service or related position.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- Physical Requirements.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require periods of standing, bending or reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
